The Road to Moscow?

The Russian Communist Party under Lenin and Stalin employed various methods to manipulate and control the population, a process that can be described as "gaslighting." This involved creating a distorted reality that the populace was forced to accept. While this is still the greatest democracy ever created, there are some very troubling signs the read like road signs to Moscow.

Under Lenin political repression and control was the central tenet of the regime. Lenin's regime was marked by significant political repression, which included shutting down opposition newspapers and imposing strict censorship through the establishment of Glavlit, the central censorship office. The Bolsheviks suppressed political dissidence and controlled the narrative by allowing creative freedom only to those who did not engage in political dissent.

Today in the US the First Amendment protects freedom of speech. However, the Federal government has exerted indirect pressure on platforms to remove certain content, often through legal threats or state encouragement. The prime example of this is doctors and scientists who disagreed with Dr Anthony Fauci.

Lenin used the Cheka, a secret police organization, to conduct mass repressions, including summary executions and sending people to the Gulag. This was part of a broader strategy to eliminate political opposition and maintain control over the state.

While we have not gotten there, yet, at least as far as we know, the Department of Justice has been used to control social media companies, try to put Donald Trump in jail, steal his fortune (a $450 million fine for a victimless crime born out of a mis-demeanor), attack ranchers is the west, “fight” voter suppression by enabling voter fraud, use the FBI to track and harass, parents, Catholics, Trump supporters, a myriad of attempts to weaponize the DOJ

Lenin didn’t have competition from opposition parties, he simply banned opposition parties! He justified this as necessary due to some parties' armed resistance against the Soviet government. This was a precursor to the more extensive repressions under Stalin.

While the Republican Party has not been banned, the willful breaking of our Southern Boder by the Biden Administration has led to the entrance of somewhere between ten and twenty million illegal aliens, with an attempt to give them voting rights where it is hoped they will vote blue thereby creating a system that renders any party other than the democratic party as impotent and insignificant.

Stalin used the media as a tool for propaganda, turning newspapers into weapons to manipulate public perception and enforce his narrative. The press was used to create an environment where paranoid fantasies were accepted as reality, effectively gaslighting the nation. Ever hear about “Spies that Lie”? That New York Post headline refers to the fact that 51 members of the US Intelligence Community signed a letter alleging that there was a high risk that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian Disinformation. The problem is, all 51 knew, or should have known that the FBI had been in possession of the laptop for over a year, had already validated its authenticity, yet they remained silent as the letter went to press.

Stalin popularized the term "enemy of the people," which was used to label and eliminate political rivals and dissenters. This label often led to execution or imprisonment in the Gulag, creating a climate of fear and paranoia. Hmmm. Sounds like “Threat to Democracy” to me! Howard Stern recently stated that if Trump were elected “the Sun would go out”

Stalin orchestrated show trials during the Great Purge, where individuals were forced to confess to crimes they did not commit, reinforcing the regime's narrative and eliminating perceived threats. Wow, what would we do without Alvin Bragg and Letitia James? We would need pages to discuss what a farce these show trials were.

In the Baltic states, Soviet propaganda under Stalin portrayed the Soviet occupation as beneficial, despite the harsh realities. This narrative was used to maintain control and suppress dissent. Hmmm. Bidenomics is working, Inflation is Transitory and…I bet your school loans were not forgiven, you’re in the wrong party!

No one is saying that the US has become he Soviet Union, but it’s not for lack of effort by the Biden Administration!
